Tarleton is nearing the end of their most recent expansion plan, Campus Plan 2010, and has initiated and submitted a new plan to the A&M system. The new expansion will not be an update like Campus Plan 2010, it will be an entirely new plan on a 10 to 15 year scale.
Jerry Graham, Vice President of Finance and Administration, said the developing stages of the new plan will involve numerous discussions. The Tarleton faculty, staff and administrators will coincide with the University's overall strategic plan.
Upon the completion of Tarleton's new dining hall and recreation center, the next step is working towards completion of the central utility loop, nursing building, and dairy center.
Also, Tarleton's land acquisition plan, after being reviewed by the Board of Regents of the Texas A&M University System in 2005, has been authorized to move forward with future acquisitions as funds become available.
Tarleton does not have a budget for land acquisition and is not actively pursuing land. Therefore as properties become available, they are considered by the administration as to location and University needs.
Tarleton's first comprehensive Master Plan was developed in 1972 and in 1987 Tarleton's Campus Plan 2000 was completed. In 1998 the plan was updated bringing us to our current plan, Campus Plan 2010.
As the university expands, the enrollment will undergo changes which will coincide with reports given to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Those numbers can be found at www.thecb.state.tx.us/reports.
