Texans move up in polls

WACO - The Tarleton Texans have moved up one spot in the American Football Coaches Association poll to No. 13 in the nation.
The Texans, who remained undefeated on the season, moved to 6-0 with the program's first-ever win in Kingsville after 11 tries. Tarleton defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday, 31-21.
The Top 10 remained in tact with Grand Valley State receiving all 28 first-place votes. North Dakota, North Alabama, Chadron State, Valdosta State, Nebraska-Omaha, Carson-Newman, Delta State, Northwest Missouri State and West Texas A&M round out the Top 10.
Other Lone Star Conference schools in the poll are No. 14 Abilene Christian and No. 16 Midwestern State, Tarleton's opponent this Saturday. Other Southwest Region teams in the nation poll are Mesa State, who is tied at No. 21, and No. 23 Pittsburg State.
The Texans moved up one spot to No. 13 in the D2Football.com poll while also being ranked No. 7 in the www.CollegeSportsReport.com poll and No. 11 in Don Hansen's Football Gazette poll.
The Texans return to action Saturday, Oct. 13, when they face the MSU Mustangs.
