WICHITA FALLS - The Tarleton TexAnn tennis team finished the Lone Star Conference Individual Championships with several team members making it to the semifinal and final rounds of the tournament.

In the first flight of singles action, Chrissie Cooper fell to Cameron's Irene George (6-1, 6-4) before defeating Ann Sophie Indherberge of Midwestern (6-4, 6-1) in the consolation round.

Melanie Zilles lost in the first round of the second flight of singles (6-2, 6-1) to Oliveria of MSU.

Shannon Jordan had a bye in the first round of the third flight of singles competition before she defeated East Central's Gamarra (6-2, 2-6, 6-0) in the semifinal game. Jordan fell to Jaclyn Walker of Abilene Christian (7-6, 6-0) in the championship game.

In the No. 4 flight of singles action Evgeniya Prokefeva defeated Megan Deblonk from ECU (6-1, 6-1) in the consolation game after falling to ECU's Detudamo (3-6, 6-2, 6-0) in the first round.

Jade Charlot advanced to the championship game of the fifth flight of singles after defeating MSU's Silva (6-3, 6-3) in the first round and Amy Cabato of Central Oklahoma (2-6, 6-0, 6-2) in the semifinal game. Charlot lost to ACU's Lauren White (6-0, 6-2) in the championship game.

In doubles action, Zilles and Jordan defeated CU's George and Deblonk (6-4, 5-7, 10-6) before falling to Irene Squillaci and Aina Rafolomanantsiatosika of ACU (6-1, 6-4). Charlot and Cooper had a bye in the first round of the second flight of doubles competition but fell to UCO's Julie Vo and Audrey Donovan (5-7, 6-1, 10-7) in the semifinals.

The TexAnns will return to action Oct. 12-14 when they travel to Denton for the North Texas Invitational.
