A native of Weatherford, Texas, Chase Cundiff has been all about music since his early days in his church's band.
Cundiff, 21, was given his musical interests by his father who was a musician throughout his life. Growing up he listened mostly to old country music that his dad favored. After learning to play guitar in the eighth grade, he began his venture into songwriting and he still writes songs today.
One of his fondest memories of his musical career was his first live gig where he played in a coffee shop in Weatherford for free. As nervous as he was, he made it through the set and so began his desire to perform music. Along with his father's music, Cundiff took a liking to Robert Earl Keen, who has been his biggest influence thus far. Along with Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Stoney LaRue have been major musical influences.
In the near future, Cundiff will be recording a compact disc with Cody Gill and Susan Gibson. He hopes to have it finished as soon as possible and looks forward to the experience in the studio. He occasionally takes his show on the road to the Tavern on the Green in San Marcos, Texas, and also plays in Weatherford.
Cundiff has been playing around town for quite some time at locations such as Bostocks, City Limits Bar and Grill, and is currently playing every Thursday at the Rockin' P Bar and Grill.
