TexAnn golfers win second straight

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Tarleton TexAnn golf team won their second straight tournament of the season thanks to a one-two finish by Andrea Lowe and Shraddhanjali Singh.
The TexAnns finished the tournament with a total score of 617 (302-315), which was 16 strokes ahead of host Northeastern State (314-319) and other West Region member St. Edward's (323-310) who finished tied for second with scores of 633.
Lowe won the individual title with a two-day total of 150 (76-74), while Singh was second with a 151 (73-78). Freshmen, Carla Cooper (77-82) and Maury Shock (78-81), each shot a total 159 to end the tournament tied for 11th. Melanie Tham (76-85=161) also competed for the Tarleton TexAnns and finished tied for 15th. Drury University (645), Western Washington (653), West Texas A&M (657), Central Oklahoma (667), Rockhurst (673), Southwestern Oklahoma (680), and Texas A&M Commerce (684) rounded out the top ten.
Rounding out the 16-team tournament were Cameron (685), Incarnate Word (710), East Central (720), St. Mary's (722), Oklahoma Panhandle (805) and Lyon College (841).
The Tarleton TexAnns will return to action on Oct. 1-2 at the Texas A&M- Commerce Invitational at Webb Hill Country Club.
