The Student Government Association conducted elections for president of the senate, secretary of the senate, spoke about the open space in the lower level of the Thompson Student Center and welcomed concerned students to meetings on Monday, Sept. 17.

John Hoover was re-elected for a second year as president of the senate and Erica Ruiz was elected secretary of the senate for this school year.

SGA discussed the open space in the lower level of the Thomas Student Center where the fitness center was formally located. Since the fitness center closed this past summer that space has not been occupied. The student body and university now have to decide what to do with that open space in the TSC.

The SGA meets twice weekly. The senate meets on Monday at 5:15 p.m. in TSC room 219 and the house meets on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. in TSC room 22D. All students who have concerns about campus or the university are encouraged to attend.

"We want everyone to know that our SGA meetings are not just for senators and representatives but for all the students who have concerns across campus. Everyone is welcome to come and just remember that the Student Government Association is your voice to the administration of Tarleton State," said Micah Moore, SGA public relations officer.
