Tarleton has long been a hot spot for thriving bands but now it the birthplace of one. Hurt Street is coming to Stephenville to play another show where it all started. They have been touring around the state and are now excited to play for their hometown Tarleton crowd. "It's where we got started and it's good to get out of the city" said lead singer Luke Wade
Three of the five piece band met right here at Tarleton except brother and saxophone player David Wade and Luke Wade. The other members consist of Aaron Lemons on bass Steve Elkins on drums John Wayne Shaw on percussion.
Hurt Street combines many genres of music to make up a completely unique sound. The variety of instruments and soulful lyrics makes for a combination that sets them apart from typical bands today, but fans seem to love what they are doing and continue to support their efforts. They have now head-lined shows all around Texas, and played with various top Texas music artist Reckless Kelly and Jason Boland and the Stragglers.
Hurt Street is once again playing at Bostock's in Stephenville. On February 16 they hope to pack the hometown bar just as they have before. Special guests Oso Closo and Congress of a Crow will also be joining them on Saturday. The night will be filled with live music, so come have a great time while supporting a local band.
